Another track we first heard on "In a Bleaze' in a live folk performance by Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller. This traditional Scottish song has two versions and to avoid war breaking out in folk circles we emphasise that that is the 'other' one.
It is often sung at the end of a gathering of friends and reportedly the most popular parting song sung in Scotland before Robert Burns wrote "Auld Lang Syne." Its popularity in Ireland has deeply influenced its sound and led to it being claimed as an Irish folk song. It was definitely not written by Joseph Haydn, as once claimed.
Sung unaccompanied and live late at night with the clock ticking down a long day.
