AD 60 was certainly Boudicca's year. 3 victories over a professional Roman army, plus the rout at Lincoln.

Beer not wine, trousers not skirts, pretty wild horse country...in the City". The excellent Irish-run Icenia Brewery in Norfolk sponsored a couple of our tours (Celtic Queen, Summer Lightning, etc won sale at the interval and often helped the second half go with extra zip). We always seemed to get a couple of archaeologists-historians in who were complimentary about the 'unusual historical accuracy and well-researched detail' and it's true that the Celts brewed beer not wine and wore (unisex, plaid-decorated) trousers, a contrast to those Roman skirts; when they weren't battle-undressed for war in nothing but woad and rowan juice that is.

"Looking anxiously over his backside" was originally "Looking anxiously over his shoulder... his great Roman backside smarting with the humiliation " with Gaz doing so while applying comical Boudicca slaps to that area. In one rehearsal, by an association of ideas, it came out as the present line instead and we all collapsed in hysterics.
